How SlabScore works
Paste a card. Get a score. Decide in five seconds. No spreadsheet, no gut call. Here's the math behind every recommendation.
The 5-second loop
Paste a card name or a PriceCharting URL. SlabScore pulls live raw, PSA 8, PSA 9, PSA 9.5, and PSA 10 prices, then scores the card on a 0–100 scale and picks the cheapest grader whose insurance covers it.
Free tier: 100 scans/month, 25 cards in your portfolio. No credit card.
The 0–100 score
Four weighted components. Each measures a different risk in the grading decision.
Profit Potential
Will this card cover its grading fee at the most likely grade outcome?
Grade Premium
How much more is the slab worth than the raw card?
Market Depth
Are there enough recent sales to trust the math? (Thin markets = bigger swings.)
Downside Protection
What happens if it grades a 9 instead of a 10? (Or a 7 instead of an 8?)
The score is capped at 100 with population-data bonuses (low pop = scarcer slab = higher score).
The verdict — 5 bands
The score maps to a one-word recommendation so you can scan a list of 500 cards and know which to submit.
| Score | Verdict | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| 80–100 | STRONG GRADE | Submit it. Strong profit at most grade outcomes. |
| 65–79 | GRADE | Submit it. Good math at expected grade. |
| 45–64 | CONSIDER | Marginal. Wait for a price move or a cheaper grader. |
| 25–44 | MARGINAL | Probably not. ROI is thin or downside is real. |
| 0–24 | SKIP | Don’t submit. Sell raw or hold. |
The pipeline
Every card lives in one of four phases. Move it as you submit and receive results.
What SlabScore is not
- • We don't grade your card — that's PSA, CGC, TAG, BGS, or ACE.
- • We don't buy or sell cards. No inventory, no commission.
- • We don't take a cut of your sales. We're a calculator with a portfolio tracker stapled on.
